Where Did All The Families Go
There used to be a place and time in the history of the earth,
when love and marriage then were prime, and clothed in love and mirth.
The man would take a sacred vow the woman followed suit.
The couple then would strive somehow for trust to institute.
They used to do odd things like that, they’d have kids and teach them right.
They even loved those they begat and kept them home at night.
But that was oh, so long ago, we don’t do that anymore.
There was a word I think I know, that lost in ancient lore.
Families; yes, I think that’s it. It finally came to me.
There seems to be some benefit to this thing called family.
I wish I had a mom and dad and brothers, sisters too!
And even if I had been bad, they’d love me through and through.
But I guess I mustn’t think that way, many years have passed since then I
know.
But on my mind the question weighs, where did all the families go?
