It was a long time ago when I went through the Phoenix Police academy.
       They said as officers, we were targets so we’d better think accordingly.
They said, "If you want to survive on the street you’d better have endurance,
       and if you don’t train and stay in-shape, you’d better get insurance."
We studied several officer involved slayings to learn what they did wrong.
       We discussed their good and bad decisions, so we’d stay alive and strong.
I’d never looked at life that way, learning from the mistakes of others,
       studying the facts surrounding the slayings of fallen sisters and brothers.
But your life is the same way you know, or haven’t you figured that out?
       You see, Satan is constantly on the prowl, sizing you up for another bout.
You became a target at baptism when you were only eight years old.
       When the Holy Ghost became your constant companion–as you were told.
But what you didn’t realize is that you received another companion as well.
       One that would try constantly to ruin your life and put you under his spell.

Since then you became as a soldier, as if standing the wall at the Alamo.
       You’ve warded off several attacks, but there’s more you’d better know.
The only chance you have at survival is staying close to the Lord of Hosts.
       The only way you’ll do that is to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Most of Their help comes by study and prayer, from a thing called inspiration.
       If you’re not studying the scriptures, you won’t be ready at the next invasion.
Only a fool thinks there won’t be a next time, so learn from those who’ve survived,
       as well as the mistakes of others around you, or you could be as those who died.
Your ability to survive the next attack will depend on your training and fitness.
       You don’t have to be a casualty of war, you can survive and stand as a witness.
The scriptures give you building material for the fort walls around your spirit
       and the stamina you need to counter defeat, increasing your ability to bear it.
Being happy is necessary for spiritual stamina, it comes from inside your soul.
       But if your spirit inside is unhappy, you’ll barely survive or glow.

So the secret is to keep your spirit happy. The question is how is it done?
       Could worldly pleasures be the answers? Some say it’s the base of all fun!
Actually, the spirit inside your body, doesn’t need worldly things at all.
       Worldly pleasures are short lived and will ultimately lead to your fall.
There is only one thing that your spirit was designed to need and seek;
       the pure light of God the Father and His Son–is to what I refer and speak.
For thousands of years people have relied on one simple thing in their life,
       to relieve them from all the trouble and pain that stems from all the strife.
That one thing is the pure light of Christ found in the scriptures we’re given.
       We’ve had this cure since the creation of man, back in the garden of Eden.
They are the antidote to depression and the secret to the happiness you want.
       They’ll keep you excited and focused in a life where blessings are abundant.
Christ said He is the light in the darkness and the darkness comprehend it not.
       These secrets were told you in the pre-existence ...or have you since forgot.
