A Controlled Environment...
The police academy was the hardest training program I was ever
involved in.
With military backgrounds, the instructors
demanded everything from within.
They screamed and yelled most of the day, their pressure was very high.
And from the stress and strain at days end,
all I could do was sigh.
Day after day the pressure increased. The drill was seldom the same.
And it didn’t matter which of us did what,
we all shared in the blame.
The training went on for several months. They were always pounding away.
The training was designed to mold our
character. Making metal from clay.
But one thing I knew and it really helped, that no matter how the day
went,
the training was totally monitored. The
academy was a controlled environment.
The commander was always watching. Making sure that what was being
taught
helped us become better people by changing
our desire, deed and thought.
That brought me much peace of mind because no matter what was to come,
I lived in a controlled environment and
only I was unsure of the outcome.
This special kind of training, different than any other I had received
before,
was a special kind of leadership training
that would change my life evermore.
Our existence here is the same way, you know. In this place we call
mortality.
It’s nothing more than leadership training
that comes from pain and reality.
It’s the Lord’s way of training and testing us. Making metal from clay.
Of putting us into positions where we have
to grow a little more each day.
So no matter what situation you find yourself in or how bad your day
went.
Only you are unsure of the outcome,
for you live in a controlled environment.
The Commander is always watching. Making sure that what is being taught
helps you become a better person by
changing your desire, deed and thought.
