It’s a humbling thought to ponder the Man that He was,
All of His actions, all centered on love.
What a marvelous love He has for us all.
Did the crowd understand when they yelled out that call?
He let His body be beaten, spit on and bruised,
Whipped, pierced, punctured and abused.
Giving it all for His fellow man,
And the amazing part, He’d do it again.
It hurts me to think, the pain that I cause,
As He prayed and suffered for me and never once paused.
All so that I could be saved in the end,
If I’d only repent, forsake and come follow Him.
He stepped in for me when I was down on my knees,
Pleading with justice to just let me be.
But justice could not allow that thing to be done,
There was no other way, except for that One.
That One, Jesus Christ, who the prophets foresaw,
would come into the world and be a light for us all.
He beckons me home with His arms open wide.
I know that He loves me and wants me right by His side.
But still there is something that isn’t quite right.
There are some in the world unaware of that night.
That He suffered so much for the souls of the earth.
They don’t even know of His glorious birth!
What a horrible thought when I ponder that some,
aren’t even aware of the Most Holy One.
That One, Jesus Christ, who the prophets foresaw,
would come into the world, and be a light for us all.
So I will go, without looking back,
to seek out those people and get them on track.
And teach them of Christ, with His arms open wide,
Who beckons them home to stand by His side.
